Baptism

Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.
We joined this church! My friends also know our church as the Pumpkin Church because of the great pumpkin patch they have every fall.

Jon, McKinley, and I getting ready to go into the sanctuary for the service!

Too cute in his new seersucker Nautica suit! He is the best dressed of us all! As Rev. David Wade announced to the congregation -- He is a Lady Killer!

We reserved 3 pews for family!

The whole gang... there's even more of us than I thought! Thanks for every one's support!

Pictures after the baptism and joining ceremonies.

Fittingly, to punctuate a great week, was a great day. On Sunday, August 15th, Jon and McKinley were Baptized! It was such a special and heart warming feeling watching my son and my husband be blessed. McKinley was a little squirmy-wormy in my arms during the ceremony but, he was a perfect angel in the arms of the Reverend as he introduced him to the congregation. That is, a perfect angel until he tried to put water on his head! He tried pushing their hands off, it was a little funny (and a little nerve racking for Mommy). Jon behaved himself properly, in case you were wondering if he was a little squirmy as well :) After the baptism, we officially joined the church with affirmations and blessings. At the end, McKinley started clapping and the whole congregation started laughing and clapping with him! We celebrated with lunch at K&W, a cafeteria style restaurant, after church and I also made a delicious yellow with chocolate frosting cake for the special guys. On the way home, McKinley fell asleep in the car, he was exhausted, and I was too!

Beach Week!

Christina and Mom on the third floor porch at the club

Our amazing beach set up included a crab baby pool. It was perfect!

Reading in the hallway outside our room.

Birthday boy!

We had many delicious meals this week!

The second week in August this year was dedicated to spending time at the beach, trying to relax, and catching up with family! Grandma Maddie spent over a week here and we enjoyed every minute of it! And Grandpa Rick joined us for the latter part as well! The majority of the week we stayed at our fave, the Hanover Seaside Club. We went to the beach nearly every day, shopped a little, took some nice walks, along with other fun activities. Rick and Jon were even able to play golf on Friday at Magnolia Greens. We 'moved out' of the club on Saturday and headed to Grandma and Pop's to continue our time together. Mom and Rick made an amazing gourmet dinner for everyone Saturday night which is always extra special. Now our goal: Keep these gorgeous tans we have!
